Help Wanted.... No B.U.D no C-BAND still want FTA, TVRO
and Ku-BAND on a 76cm DISH.

Hello. Welcome. If you made it here, thanks. I am looking for help in setting up a 76cm dish. I want to setup a system with
a 76cm Dish, a dual-LNB and a Samsung DSR 3800 FTA receiver. The system is already purchased and I am trying to setup for satellite. I am not getting any signal quality so far. So please work with me on what I have, not what I should/could have started out with.
Here are the details of my system:
Samsung DSR 3800 FTA + CI System DSR3800CISys
SAMSUNG DSR3800CI give you the choice of FTA or Common Interface.

Here are my questions

1) Is this above satellite info only for C-BAND, or can I assume that it also applies to dishes that are
Ku-Band 75cm in dimension. The receiever is for both Ku/C-Band?

2) How far out should the LNB throat be gripped. Is this correct?
3) Is this how the motor and dish are supposed to be attached?
4) Is this the correct facing of dish towards true south? I know elevation and declination is wrong. But if
the motor and dish were facing south, is this how the dish and motor would look aligned together?

5) The satellite inforamation calls for an elevation angle of 34.5 degrees for my location. But the document on the
DiSEqC motor suggests I set the elevation based upon a table provided by them. According to the table for my
latitude of approximately 42 degrees, I need to set the elevation at 48 degrees. I had it set to 48 degrees, but perhaps
it should be 34.5 degrees as shown by the satfinder program. In both cases it does not work for me. Here is the
picture of the elevation set to 34.5 degrees. What should this REALLY be set to?

6) The DiSEqC motor documentation also suggests that I set declination to 30 - 6.5 degrees for my latitude of
42 degrees.  But because of the way the dish and the motor assembly mounting post come together there is
an obstruction by a bolt at the bottom in the way, whereby the declination cannot be reduced any futher. What is the
    work around for that?

7) Based upon the satellite view of the houses around, what is the best location on the house to mount the dish?
By adequate, I mean high enough to get at the bird, but also low risk in terms of personal safety for mounting.
8) If I want to point to Telstar 5, I need to be pointing to azimuth of 231.3 degress and an elevation of 34.1degrees,
then based upon the satellite view of the home, would this be the correct azimuth  orientation as shown by the
following anotations in the picture below:

The above is the location of my house in Merrimack, NH. At the top left is the compass reference. Here is the closeup of the house

South facing dish view
Shown above is the dish pointing due south true, and taking magnetic variation into account. The magnetic variation
for my city of merrimack is 16 degrees west.

declination impeded
As can be seen there is a bolt at the bottom sticking out from behind the dish assembly bracket which is dead in the way of
further reducing the declination angle. The upper mounting bolt through the motor mounting pipe is fixed because
it is actually threaded through holes in the pipe to secure the motor mounting assembly.
Here is the close up of the current declination readings.
